Temperature Regulation
American Black bears are warmblooded animals. Warmblooded animals (birds, mammals) like to keep their body temperature at a non-changing temperature. They make there own heat by eating a lot of food for energy. Black bears are also able to regulate there body temperature many different ways besides eating. These bears have a thick coat[1] which allows to keep warm in the winter. During hibernation they use their fur and and body to ground ratio to stay warm. When Black bears are hot they're body will tell their neuron cells which will then send messages to their mouth to make them pant. Panting cools the bears down. In the Black bear the spinal cord and brain control the nervous system. The nervous system works like this:
To the left you will see the human nervous system. Although this is a human bears are very similar to humans. So they both have a similar nervous system.
